Summer Study Abroad Program Deadline: March 1

Want to study abroad but don’t want to miss a semester at SU? Why not look into the summer study abroad programs offered by SU Abroad. With more than 35 programs in 18 countries, it will be hard to find one that doesn’t appeal to your area of interest or academic studies. Many summer courses include traveling seminars, regional site visits and incorporate language studies so students can enjoy the full study abroad experience. 

The Olympic Odyssey course delves into the creation of the modern day Olympics starting off in London, the site of the 2012 Summer Games, then to Paris, the birthplace of the modern Olympic games, then to Lausanne, the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee, and lastly to Athens, home of the ancient Olympic Games.

Another brand new program called Islam in Three Nations: Media, History & Culture , explores Islamic society in London, Spain and Morocco. Students attend the the annual Fez Festival of Sacred Music in Morocco and explore Muslim life through art, gender, religion, geography and media in the three countries.

Students taking Globalization and its Critics travel to six countries in four weeks! Students will visit leading fashion, industrial and media companies in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, France and England, in addition to political institutions like the European Union and NGOs like Greenpeace.

Some progams such as the Madrid Summer Session offer internship placements in addition to courses for students wishing to immerse themselves in the work world abroad. Various programs throughout Israel, India, South Africa, Singapore and Ghana let students explore non-traditional regions of the study-abroad world.
