Can you believe that it is already October? The fall semester is flying by! Our SU Abroad students are all well-accustomed to their surroundings now and are starting to branch out…and the best way to branch out is, of course, by trying new food. SU Beijing student Spencer writes about her love for Chinese food in her blog American Girl Trapped in a Chinese World. She even compares the differences between fast food in the U.S. and abroad!
Students also remarked on their experiences shopping for food. SU London student Claire writes about being taken aback when asked to pay for a bag at the grocery store in her blog Adventures in London. SU Florence student Rebecca discussed the difficulties she faced when trying to find food on a Sunday in her blog A Writer’s Travels. She hadn’t been expecting all of the restaurants and stores to be closed on Sunday in Italy.
Even though students faced cultural challenges while on their quest for great food, it’s all worked out in the end. Just check out the food photography in Julia’s blog, Julia Travels Places! You’ll be hopping on the next flight out of the U.S. to enjoy some amazing cultural treats!
