For some students, one of the most challenging aspects about studying abroad is spending holidays away from family, friends, and familiar traditions. Nevertheless, those students who choose to embrace their abroad experience and set out to make new traditions of their own in their new and unfamiliar home often find that they can enjoy special holidays in a new way while also getting a new appreciation for things they may have taken for granted at home… like turkey and stuffing.
Rather than gathering with family this Thanksgiving, SU London student Marybeth Lawrence set out on an adventure to Dublin. In her blog, Marybeth writes about how she was able to enjoy the holidays and make up for traditions she missed from home. From touring the Jameson distillery, to shopping at the Christmas markets, to taking in the gorgeous sights at the Cliffs of Moher; Marybeth made the most of her Thanksgiving weekend.
